First Half Mishaps Give Saint Leo Edge Over Panthers in SSC Matchup

Panthers second half effort isn't enough to stave off Lions

SAINT LEO, Fla. (Men's Basketball) - Florida Tech drops it's second matchup 97-76 to conference opponent Saint Leo on Saturday night at the Bowman Center. The panthers struggled during first half efforts and were unable to put together a second half defensive stand. Four Panthers posted in double digit scoring,  Sam Daniel 19, Jordan Majors 14, Patrick Anderson 12 and Robert Booth 10. Trailing behind them was Michael Milligan who posted nine and Derek Murphy with eight.

The Panthers held an even keel for the first 10 minutes to start the half but would be unable to keep pace in the latter 10 minutes. Daniel scored 14 of his 19 points in the half while teammate Anderson had seven. Being tested defensively, FIT could not execute a plan to slow down the Lions offense. Forwarded to the second, the Panthers exchanged even buckets throughout the entire half. FIT generated 41 points against the Lion's 45 and forced 10 turn overs with accreditation for seven steals, however the the defensive efforts could not help close the deficit and the Lions walked away with the victory.

Up next, the Panthers head back home to face the Fighting Knights of Lynn University in hopes of advancing to a 10-4 home record. The game will be played at the Clemente Center in Melbourne, Fla. with tip-off starting at 7:30 p.m. ET.
