MIAMI SHORES, Fla. (Baseball) - Florida Tech (19-13, SSC 5-5) left nothing on the field, as they rolled past the Barry Buccaneers with an overpowering 10-2 win on Friday night.

The Crimson and Gray bats had no mercy during the outing, recording 16 total hits, nine of which came from Grant McKown, John Sternagel and Reed Neil combined, as they snatched three hits apiece. During the game, McKown grabbed his 11th seasonal double, while Neil crowned his fifth seasonal home run with a grand slam. 

On the mound, junior pitcher, Ty Cohen struck out four for his fifth seasonal W. The right-handed pitcher allowed two runs on eight hits while walking one on six complete innings pitched.

Starting the game, the Panthers opened the score in the second with a sac-fly by catcher Ryan Sinzenich. Eventually, the Buccaneers answered back tying up the game, 1-1.

Florida Tech quickly regained the lead, snatching two runs in the third with an RBI single by Nick Capra, followed by a score coming off a passed ball by the Barry catcher.

The Bucs shortened up the distance in the fourth, putting themselves on the board again for a 3-2 score, but the Panthers bats struck again in the fifth. West Coast outfielder David Wilson was the author of the FIT stretch, batting in two runners on a single to left field.

As sixth and seventh went by blank for both sides, the Panthers burst again in the eighth.

 McKown opened up the inning with a double to left center, while Neil reached base on a single to first base that pushed his fellow teammate to third. With runners at first and third, Sternagel stepped to the plate and drove a single to right field allowing McKown to reach home safe.

With Florida Tech on a roll, in the final at bat the Panthers lineup was untamable. Sinzenich led the hot streak reaching first on a walk, followed by a Trent Masih single to the pitcher. Next, McKown drove a single through the right side to load the bases.

Capping off the Panthers night, Neal entered the box next, crashing a bomb behind the right center fence to clear the bases and bump up the margin in overwhelming fashion.

With an eight-run difference, the Crimson and Gray quickly wrapped up the game in the ninth and topped their fifth SSC win, 10-2.
