MELBOURNE, Fla. - Florida Tech (6-7-1, 3-4-0 SSC) found themselves on the losing end of another close contest as they fell to Barry (12-0-1, 7-0-1 SSC), 2-1.
It was all Barry in the first half as the Buc registered 20 shots compared to the Panthers two. But it was quality over quantity as Florida Tech capitalized in the 29th minute as
Taylor Eller registered her first goal of the season. The team took the 1-0 lead into the locker rooms.
Unfortunately, Barry struck early in the second period as a penalty kick evened the score up at 1-1. Another well placed ball beat the defense and gave the Bucs a 2-1 advantage. This ended the scoring on the night as both defenses tightened up and did not allow many good chances in the final third of the match.
Florida Tech will look to get back on track in their final home match of the season as they invite Lynn to Rick Stottler Field on Wednesday, Oct. 17. Prior the 7 pm ET kickoff, the team will be honoring their senior members for their dedication to the program.
