DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Florida Tech (6-6-1, 3-3-0 SSC) found themselves on the wrong side of another close match as they fell 3-2 to Embry-Riddle (6-4-0, 4-2-0 SSC) .
The two teams used the first 45 minutes as a feeling out period as they combined for 10 shots with a 6-4 advantage in favor of the Panthers.Â
However, Florida Tech did manage to bury one of those six shots as senior
Keira McCarthy put in her eighth goal of the year . This put her into a tie for second on the Sunshine State Conference leaderboard.
The second half favored the attack as a total of four goals were tallied. The Eagles' Eva Jonsdottir found the back of the net in the 68th and 72nd minute.Â
Samantha Grim (1) tied the score at 2-2 when she beat the keeper off a
Macey Hedelund corner. Unfortunately for the Panthers, a quick charge by Embry-Riddle resulted in them scoring the game winner less than 30 seconds later.Â
Florida Tech will rest and refocus for their next match against Barry. Kickoff for this home showdown is set for 7 pm ET on Saturday, Oct. 13.
