MELBOURNE, Fla. - Florida Tech (3-3-1, 1-0-0 SSC) grabs a huge 3-0 win in its conference opener over Palm Beach Atlantic (4-2-1, 0-1-0 SSC).
Maria Sanchez Recuero (3-3-1) earned her first full clean sheet of the year, she combined with
Natalia Milashus for one earlier this season.
The Panthers opened this game firing as the team jumped out to a 2-0 lead in less than 15 minutes.
Maria Munoz added a fourth goal to her season total when she fired off a rocket outside of the box. In the 14th minute,
Elisabeth Stoffel netted an easy goal off a Munoz pass.
The rest of the half went in Florida Tech favor as the team outshot the Sailfish, 6-3.
The Crimson and Gray did not slow down after the break, as they tacked on another goal and outshot the Sailfish, 4-2.
Veronica Thordardottir was the aforementioned third goal scorer in a beautiful solo effort that saw her beat the defender one-on-one and fire a screamer into the back of the net from about 20 yards out.
Florida Tech will look to build on tonight's success on Wednesday, Sept. 19, in Boca Raton, Florida as they battle Lynn. First kick is set to take place at 6:00 p.m. ET.
