COLUMBUS, Ga. - In their second game of Labor Day weekend, Florida Tech (0-1-1) take on regional foe No. 10 West Florida (2-0-0). The Panthers pushed the Argonauts but in the end, could not overcome their strong attack as the team fell 4-1.
The Crimson and Gray started off the game slowly as UWF seized control of the first half and pushed the pace which ultimately resulted in a 1-0 lead at the horn.
However, the Panthers came out hot to open the second half as they tied the game at 1-1 off of a strong header by
Sara Carroll less than two minutes into the action. They continued to press West Florida for the next few minutes before the momentum swung back in the Argonauts favor.
This resulted in UWF tacking on three more goals in the final 45 to bring the final score to 4-1.Â
Florida Tech will look to shake off this set back when they head up to Mankato, Minnesota to take on No. 20 Minnesota State - Mankato. This match is set to take place on Sept. 5, at 6 p.m.
