Panthers Suffer Another Heartbreak

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Tech women's basketball went to Boca Raton, Florida for a Sunshine State Conference showdown with Lynn. The Panthers lost another heartbreaker as they fell 60-56.

November Morton carried the scoring load as the freshman tallied a career-high 22 points. Aniquah Swan was dominant on the glass as she had a game-high eight rebounds. Cheyenne Scott was the catalyst in the passing game with four assists.

The game started with the Panthers going down quickly as Lynn opened up on an 11-2 run. This did not last though as Tech managed to bring it to 17-20 at the buzzer.

The second quarter was a big one for the Crimson and Gray as they gained its first lead of the night on a Morton layup. From that point on it was a battle but a late run by the women gave them the 33-30 advantage at the whistle.

The third was dominant for Florida Tech as the team held Lynn to only eight points while they put up 15. This gave the women a 10-point cushion as they headed into the fourth with the score at 48-38.

But the Fighting Knights came alive in the fourth and stole the momentum from the Panthers. This culminated in a huge quarter in which Tech was outscored 22-8. It was a one-score game until two free throws with one second left put it out of reach as Florida Tech loss another close one 56-60.

The Panthers will put this behind them as they gear up for a home game against Embry-Riddle on Wednesday, Jan. 16, at 5:30 pm ET.
