MELBOURNE, Fla. – Florida Tech women's basketball (5-11, 1-7 SSC) suffered another tough defeat on Wednesday, Jan. 16 to Embry-Riddle (11-5, 6-3 SSC).
Gracie Doane (11) and
November Morton (10) were the two Panthers to reach double digits.
Tereza Sedlakova controlled the boards as she brought down six rebounds; while, Morton led with two assists.
The game started out with the two teams exchanging buckets as the score was 9-8 in favor of the Eagles. Then a huge 12-0 run to end the period by ERAU had the score at 21-8 going into the second.
The second saw Florida Tech wake up and controlled the pace of the game as they outscored Embry-Riddle 15-7 to bring it to 23-28 at the half.
The Panthers opened the second half on a 13-3 that helped the team open their first lead of the game at 34-31. The team held onto the advantage till the end of the quarter as they were up 42-39 with 10 minutes left to go.
Unfortunately for Florida Tech, the fourth was not kind to them as the team struggled to score. Unlike their opponent who found themselves on a hot streak. This led to the final score being 46-60.
The Panthers will look ahead to Saturday, Jan. 19, when they invite the Sailfish of Palm Beach Atlantic to Melbourne, Florida. This showdown in the Clemente Center is set to begin at 2 pm ET.
