Late Run Downs the Panthers

SAINT LEO, Fla. – Florida Tech women's basketball found themselves in another tightly contested game as the team faced Saint Leo. It was a good game but a last-minute run by Saint Leo dropped the Panthers, 61-67.
 
Tereza Sedlakova continued her string of hot performances as she tallied a team-high 13 points. Gracie Doane was a dominant force on the glass as she grabbed seven rebounds. Iceland native, Gudlaug Juliusdottir, dished out four of the team's 10 assists.
 
Florida Tech got off the bus hot as the team dominated the first quarter. The women held a 14-8 lead at the 4:36 mark. At the whistle, Tech was ahead 16-14.
 
The Panthers continued to dictate the pace as they held a 10-point lead with less than two minutes left on the clock. The half ended with the team up on the Lions, 36-28.
 
However, the second half did not go Florida Tech's way as they were outscored 25-39. This began in the third quarter despite a few runs throughout the period it went in favor of Saint Leo.
 
The Crimson and Gray led 47-44 as the game went into the final quarter of play. It was a back and forth affair as the lead changed hands four times and was tied a total of six times.
 
The final result was up in the air till the final 37 seconds as a 7-0 SLU run dropped the Panthers, 67-61.
 
Florida Tech is set to hit the court again on Saturday, Jan. 12, as the team will go to Lynn for a 2 p.m. ET showdown.
