SAINT LEO, Fla. – Florida Tech women's soccer grabbed its first win in Sunshine State Conference play and the first time in seven matches as they took down Saint Leo, 1-0, on the road.
Alyssa Bartle was the sole scorer on the evening as she netted her second of the season.
Veronica Thordardottir,
Mariana Mazzocca,
Maria Munoz and
Monica Zabian also registered shots on the contest.
Maria Sanchez Recuero had a solid out as she tallied four saves and allowed no goals. This was her second shutout of 2019.
The only goal of the contest came only 16 minutes into play when Bartle powered on past the keeper. This would be enough in the back-and-forth affair as Sanchez Recuero played great and the goal was the Panthers only shot on goal the entire 90 minutes.
Florida Tech will look to build on this win when the team host Rollin. This game is set for Wednesday, Oct. 23, and will take place at Rick Stottler Field beginning at 7 p.m. ET.
