WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Florida Tech women's soccer suffered a rough defeat as they lost to Palm Beach Atlantic, 4-0.
Maria Munoz had the most shots of any Panthers' player with three. But,
Brittany Etrick and
Natalie Hill were the only ones to place a shot on goal as they both had one apiece.
Maria Sanchez Recuero and
Miranda Choplin put in a combined effort in between the posts. Sanchez Recuero got the start and played over 72 minutes before Choplin relieved her with 17:26 left in the match.
It was a pretty even match in the first half as the teams traded shots for most of the period but with about five minutes left to go PBA converted its first chance. This 1-0 Panthers' deficit held as the game reached halftime.
Unfortunately the break was not kind to the Crimson and Gray as the Sailfish came out hot and scored only 28 seconds after the whistle had blown. This set the pace for the rest of the game as PBA tacked on two more, one in the 66
th minute and the other two minutes later. This ended the nights total at 4-0 as Florida Tech fell to the Sailfish.
The Panthers will look to regroup and refocus as they head back to Rick Stottler Field Saturday, Nov. 2, for a 7 p.m. ET kickoff against Tampa.
