MELBOURNE, Fla. – It was a special day here at Rick Stottler Field as the women's soccer team honored its senior members prior to kickoff. Unfortunately for the Panthers, the early energy did not propel them to a win as they fell to Tampa, 4-0.
 
Senior, Maria Munoz, had a solid final performance in Melbourne as she took three shots and two were on goal. Two other seniors, Brittany Etrick and Kiana Zanganeh, each took one shot in the contest.
 
Maria Sanchez Recuero had a decent outing as the Spaniard tallied five saves in her 90 minutes in goal.
 
The match did not start in the Crimson and Gray's favor as Tampa managed to take three shots in the first 15 minutes and only three minutes later they propelled their first one into the back of the net off a Panthers' defensive error. Later in the first period, the Panthers' deficit grew to 2-0 as a cross into the box was finished by UT's Moeko Morse. This score held till the end of the first half as the teams took to the sidelines.
 
The second half began in a similar way as the first with Tampa coming out the gate quickly and testing the Panthers' defense. This resulted in a goal about eight minutes after the first kick and the final goal of the match came in the 71^st minute to make the final score of the night, 4-0.
 
Florida Tech will close out its season Tuesday, Nov. 5, when the Panthers head to Lynn for a 6 p.m. ET showdown.
