FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. – No. 11 Florida Tech men's soccer (7-0, 3-0 SSC) continued its dominance as the team went on the road and took out Nova Southeastern, 3-0.
It was a full team effort as four different Panthers found their name in the score sheet either with a goal or an assist.
Guillermo Segovia led the charge as he had both an assist and a goal. While Stian Olsen and
Luca Campanini found the back of the net and
Per Henrik Nag set up a goal.
Jason Fesquet (7-0) tallied his fourth shutout of the year and pushed his season's goals against average to a minuscule 0.43. In this contest, the Frenchman recorded two saves as his defensive front was dominant.
The game began as a defensive battle as only one shot was attempted in the first 20 minutes and it was blocked. However, once Tech's attack got going they took over and began to pepper the Shark's keeper and it paid off in the 24
th minute when Olsen buried a header off a Segovia corner kick.
The 1-0 score held till the half but Luca pushed it to 2-0 less than three minutes into the second half as he whipped a free kick into the right corner. Segovia netted the final insurance goal as he cleaned up a deflection. This put the final score of the contest at 3-0 and gave Florida Tech its seventh straight victory.
The Panthers will look to keep it rolling Wednesday, Oct. 9, when they are back on the road as they head to St. Petersburg, Florida, to take on Eckerd. This match on Johnson Field is set to begin at 7 p.m. ET.
