MELBOURNE, Fla. – Florida Tech men's soccer was well rested and ready for postseason action as they welcomed Palm Beach Atlantic to Rick Stottler Field. The men played tough but a few miscues cost them as they lost 3-1.
Â
Per Henrik Nag netted the Panthers' only goal off passes from
Abram Murphy and
Guillermo Segovia. Segovia also led the team in shots with three as the trio of
Stian Hagboe Olsen,
Hugo Lopez and
Brandon Smalley all had two.
Â
The first half was a tale of woe for the Panthers as they controlled the pace for a majority of the half. But two small mistakes were all it took for PBA to make it a 2-0 match after the first 45 minutes.
Â
The deficit did not put a damper on Tech's spirit as they came out even more aggressive. This strategy paid off as the team brought it back within one goal as Nag found the back of the net off a Murphy cross to Segovia who in turn found Nag. However, a PBA strike only a couple of minutes later put it back at a two-goal match. This 3-1 score held till the final whistle as the Panthers could not complete the comeback.
Â
Florida Tech will now have to wait until Monday, Nov. 18, to see if their season will continue. The NCAA selection show is set to take back at 6:30 p.m. ET. The show will be live streamed on NCAA.com.
