Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Florida Tech Downed By Saint Leo

MELBOURNE, Fla. – Florida Tech women's basketball hosted Saint Leo in its annual Play4Kay game. A late game surge brought the game made it a two possession game with a minute left but in the end the women fell for the third straight time, 58-52.

Tereza Sedlakova led all scorers with 17 while freshman November Morton was right behind her with 16. Kailyn Ebb also put together a solid game as she shared the team lead in both rebounds (7) and assists (3).

The Panthers got off to a sluggish start as the Lions jumped out to a 9-4 lead at the 5:41 mark. A Sedlakova free throw brought it back to four. But another Saint Leo run pushed their advantage to double digits before a pair of Fanny Hakanson free throws ended the quarter at 15-7.

The second quarter saw more balanced action as both teams shot lights out from beginning to end. This lead to a combined 39 points between the two teams. This scoring outburst put the halftime score at 35-26.

The third quarter was the complete opposite of the second as defense ruled as neither team broke 10 points in the period. Tech deficit did increase though as they were outscored 7-5 thus bring the score to 42-31.

Florida Tech took control in the final period of play as the women methodically began to come back and had it within four with 1:01 left. However, the Lions rallied and held off the Crimson and Gray as the women fell, 58-52.

The Panthers hit the road for the next game as they head to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to take on Nova Southeastern. This matchup is set for Saturday, Feb. 16, at 2 p.m. ET.
