DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Florida Tech women's basketball grabbed its first road win of the season as they took down Embry-Riddle, 78-60.
Three Panthers managed to score in double-digits as
Tereza Sedlakova led the team with 18, while,
Cheyenne Scott had all 17 of her points in the second half.
Amanda Allen was the third to cross the threshold at 14 and tacked on 10 rebounds for her first double-double of the season.
The Crimson and Gray started out the first quarter going back-and-forth with the Eagles. But at the 4:05 mark that all changed as a layup by
Gudlaug Juliusdottir sparked an 11-0 run to end the quarter. This run was only a glimpse into how the rest of the game played out.
The second quarter saw the Panthers continued to outscore the Eagles as Tech put up 25 to ERAU's 20. Most of the Panthers points came from beyond the arc as the team went 5-5 with three-of-the-five from
Gracie Doane which gave them a 41-27 advantage.
The third quarter was the Scott show as she scored 11 straight points for Florida Tech during which time the Eagles only scored five as a team. This helped the Panthers to a 63-44 lead as they went into the fourth quarter.
The final 10 minutes was a close affair despite both teams going on runs during the period. So at the final buzzer, Florida Tech found itself on top of the Eagles, 78-60.
Florida Tech will head back to Melbourne, Florida, as they will take on Lynn Saturday, Feb. 23. This game is slated to start at 2 p.m. ET and will be held in the Clemente Center.
