MELBOURNE, Fla. – Florida Tech women's basketball lost a heartbreaker, 50-49, against the Lynn Fighting Knights.
Tereza Sedlakova found herself in a familiar role as the team's leading scorer with 12 points.
Kailyn Ebb flirted with a double-double as she had up 9 points and 12 rebounds for the game.
The first quarter was a representation of the entire game as the team's battled from start to finish but a late run by Lynn gave them the 16-12 lead as they went into the second.
The second was a push as both teams put up 14 points which made the game 30-26 as they went into the lockers to plan for the second half.
Florida Tech shut down the Fighting Knights in the third as a combination of shout defense and solid offensive production gave the Panthers a 17-9 advantage over the 10 minute period. This also gave Tech a 43-39 lead as the game went into the final quarter.
However, Lynn flipped the script thanks to a strong end as they went 4-5 from the field to finish out the game. But it looked like the Crimson and Gray was going to eke out a last second win but a
Michaela Gelbaugh did not get a friendly roll as the shot bounced off the rim as time expired and the team fell 50-49.
The Panthers will be back at the Clemente Center Wednesday, Feb. 27, for the final home game of the season. Prior to the 5:30 p.m. ET tipoff the team will honor both Rollins and Florida Tech's seniors for their contributions to their respective teams.
