Melbourne, Fla. - On February 22, the Panthers went up against the No. 1 University of Tampa. Florida Tech (4-5, SSC 1-0) defeated No. 1 University of Tampa (8-3, SSC 0-1).
The Panthers ace,
Andrew Marzheuser pitched four innings allowing three runs and four hits. The right hander also recorded six strikeouts on the night keeping the Panthers in the game.
Jordan Murray was the winning pitcher for Florida Tech in which he pitched one inning without allowing a run. Greg Berkemeier turn to the hard throwing
Ryan Allain in the ninth inning in which he was able to earn the save.
Offensively, the Panthers tallied six runs on seven hits.
Rodnie Bernard continues to swing the bat very well for the Panthers. Bernad went 3-for-4 with two runs score and a double.
Blaise Maris contributed on the Panther win going 1-for-3 with a run score and a RBI. Maris hit an RBI single to center scoring Bernard.
Jakob Newton went 1-for-3 with two run score helping the Panther earn the victory.
The Crimson and Gray will be back tomorrow to wrap up the series against the University of Tampa. Game one is schedule for 1 p.m.
