Melbourne, Fla. – On February 3
rd, the Panther went up against the Nighthawks for game three of the weekend series. Florida Tech was unable to secure a win against North Georgia as they were defeated 9-1.
The Panthers recorded one run on eight hits with one error in nine innings of play.
Offensively, the junior
Blaise Maris had a good day at the plate going 3-for-4 with one RBI. The catcher also scored the only run for the Panthers with a home run in the 9
th inning. Freshman
Alec Eldridge continues to swing the bat well as he went 2-for-4 on the day against UNG.
Freshman
Preston Schumacher had his first collegiate start throwing two innings. Freshman
Justin Lorenz came in to start the third inning in which he pitched four innings allowing four hits, no runs score and two strikeouts.
This concludes the opening weekend series against UNG.
Florida Tech will be back Friday, February 8
th to host the first tournament of the season. The Panthers will face Wingate Friday at 2pm and following is Wingate against Valdosta St at 6pm.
