Saint Leo, Fla. - On March 20, the Panthers wrapped up the series against the Lions in which they were unable to earn a win in the doubleheader.
In game one, the starting pitcher for the Panthers was
Colin Cristello. Cristello pitched five innings allowing eight hits, five runs, and four strikeouts on the no decision.
Both the Panthers and Lions recorded over ten hits each. Florida Tech tallied eight runs, 17 hits, eight RBI's, and four walks.
Brett Parrish had a great day at the plate for the Panthers. The freshman recorded three hits on four at bats with two runs and two RBI's. Parrish now ranks second on the team in the batting average category (.339)
Raul Quintero also had a three hit game for the Panthers. He went 3-for-5 with a run and a RBI.
Pedro Rivera continues to swing the bat well for the Panthers going 3-for-5 with an RBI.
In game two, the starter was
Rhett Willis who pitched 3.1 innings allowing nine hits, five runs, and a walk.
The Panthers continued to swing the bat well in game two recording six runs, 13 hits, six RBI's, and five walks.
Blaise Maris recorded three hits on five at bats with a run, three RBI's, a double, a walk, and a home run. Maris continues to lead the team in home runs (8) and is tied for fourth in the Sunshine State Conference.
Quintero had another good game going 2-for-5 with a double. The Weston, Fla. native improves his batting average to .320 on the season.
Rivera recorded two hits on five at bats with a run and a RBI to wrap up the series. With this performance Rivera improves his batting average to .290 on the season.
The Panthers will be back home Monday, March 22nd to face Barry University. First pitch is schedule for 4 p.m.
