MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Florida Tech women's soccer battled Barry in a tightly contested match but in the end fell 2-0.
Maria Munoz continues to lead the Panthers attack this time she tallied six of the teams 14 shots. The other eight were by
Mariana Mazzocca,
Monica Zabian and
Kellie Krygier with two a piece while
Kiana Zanganeh and
Jeeda Al-Naber had one shot.
Maria Sanchez Recuero put in another good effort as the Spain native had six saves and allowed only two goals.
The first half was a back-and-forth affair as both team recorded seven shots in the 45 minute period. However, neither found the back of the net so it was scoreless at halftime.
The second half was similar to the first as the shot totals were 9-7 in favor of the Bucs. However, those two shots were the difference as they resulted in the only two goals of the game as Barry won 2-0.
Florida Tech has a week off before they take the field against Nova Southeastern. This match will take place on Rick Stottler Field and is set to begin at 7 p.m. ET.
