MELBOURNE, FLA. - Florida Tech baseball hosted Minnesota Crookston on Tuesday afternoon at Andy Seminick-Les Hall Field. The Panthers battled all nine innings against the Golden Eagles, but the comeback fell short as the Golden Eagles won 15-12 in a three hour and forty-seven minute game.
The Crimson and Gray were able to take an early two-run lead with a Vincenzo Catanza RBI double and an RBI single by Jack Nagy in the second inning.
The Golden Eagles were able to come back in the third-inning and batted around an scored eight runs. Later in the fourth, they struck again as they added three more. In the fifth, Minnesota Crookston added four more to extend their lead 15-2 over the Panthers.
The Panthers' comeback started to unfold at the bottom of the fifth inning as they scored four runs. Blaise Maris two-RBI double to left-center started the Panther rally. The next batter, Brett Parrish, connected with another extra-base hit to score Maris. Dylan Owens will later hit a ground ball that scored Parrish to make a hit a 15-6 game.
In the sixth, the Panthers were able to make it a 15-11 game. The first run came from a bases-loaded walk by Maris to score Rodnie Bernard. Later, Raul Quintero walked home another run. Dylan Owens delivered a three-RBI double to left field to make it a four-run game.
In the seventh, a single by Alec Eldridge scored Jakob Newton to make it a three-run game.
However, the Golden Eagles were able to hold the Panthers to 12 runs and end the comeback.
The Panther bullpen did an incredible job holding the Golden Eagles dangerous offense for the last four innings. The bullpen from the sixth inning allowed one hit, no runs, two walks, and four strikeouts to give the Panther offense a chance to comeback. This incredible performance was done by Jordan Murray, Andrew Dunham, and Blake Beyel.
Blaise Maris had a great day at the plate recording two hits on four at-bats. The designated hitter collected two runs, three RBI's, a double, and two walks in the game.
Brett Parrish continues to swing the bat very well has he tallied two hits in six at-bats. The right-fielder had a run scored and an RBI.
Dylan Owens was swinging the bat well for the Panthers as he registered two hits in four at-bats. The catcher recorded a run scored, four RBI's, a double, and a walk, in tonight's game.
Alec Eldridge collected two hits in three at-bats scoring two runs, an RBI, a double, and two walks.
Jack Nagy recorded his first RBI in a Panther uniform going 1-for-1 in today's game.

The Crimson and Gray will have head to Tampa on Friday, February 28th to face No. 7 University of Tampa for a three-game weekend series. The game Friday is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. EST.
