LAKELAND, Fla. – Women's basketball looked to earn its three straight road victory and third win out of four games as they traveled to Lakeland for a conference battle with Florida Southern. Florida Tech completed the upset of the No. 2 team in the Sunshine State Conference with a 73-70 victory.
Severine Uggen and

Fanny Hakanson had a huge game as she was all over the court, she recorded a team high in rebounds and game high in assists with nine apiece along with six points.
The Crimson & Gray opened this game on a tear as the women went on 11-4 run over the first 4:06. The dominance continued as they finished the quarter with a 21-11 advantage.
The team opened the second quarter with another big run as they outpaced the Mocs 15-6 over the first four and half minutes. However, a slight Florida Southern resurgence at the end of the first half made it 42-28 as the teams went into the locker.
The first two and a half minutes of the second half was a slow affair as both teams put up five points. However, that did not last as Florida Southern had an 11-24 run that brought it within one point at the buzzer.
With the score being 58-57, as the game went into the final 10 minutes, Florida Tech had its hands full to hold on to the win. However, the women rose to the occasion and did what they had to for the victory. It did not come easy though as they did fall behind 67-70 with 4:18 left.
Those points would be the last of the game for the Mocs though as the Panthers finished the contest on a 6-0 run and triumphed 73-70.
