INSIDE THE MATCHUP:

STATS OF THE MATCH: 
  • It was a scoreless draw in the first half. Florida Tech went into halftime with a 4-3 edge in shots. The Tritons led in corner kicks 3-1.
  • Panthers broke through in the 52nd minute as Fabio Amaral converted a corner kick. Stian Hagboe Olsen was credited with the assist.
  • Less than a minute later, Eckerd drew a foul in the Panthers' box to earn a penalty kick. Tommy Lamb converted the PK to tie it up 1-1.
  • Juan Masqueda nearly gave the Panthers the lead in the final seconds, but his header went over the net to send the teams into OT.
  • Four minutes into the second OT Guillermo Segovia netted the golden goal following a long cross from the right side by Olsen.
  • Tech led in shots 14-8, shots on goal 2-1, and corner kicks 7-5. Five cautions were given, Panthers received two of them.
 
COACHES CORNER:
"Tonight was yet another hard fought game" said Chan. "There was good collective spirit and commitment to the cause. We showed great urgency in our defending in key moments, and I thought we showed our character and leadership tonight and ultimately found the way to a win."

  • Panthers and Tritons last match up ended in double OT
  • Segovia recorded his 9th goal of the season, while Amaral charted his 2nd
  • Olsen two assists was a career high
