Florida Tech improves to 3-0-1 against ranked opponents this season

STATS OF THE MATCH: 
  • Mayara Queiroz Reis got the Panthers on the board early as she beat two defenders and scored on a shot to the bottom left corner in the 7th minute. It is Queiroz Reis' fourth goal of the season. 
  • Alyssa Bartle pushed Tech's lead to 2-0 in the 9th minute on a shot from outside the box off an assist from Marem Ndiongue. It is Bartle's first goal of the season and Ndiongue's fifth assist.
  • Tech's strong play on both fronts helped them outshoot the Sailfish 13-8 and finish with a 6-2 edge in corner kicks
  • Paige Lewkutz finished with five saves in her first career start while PBA goalkeeper Rachel Neumann made six saves
  • Queiroz Reis led Tech with five shots with three on goal. Hanna Maansson, Jeeda Al-Naber and Bartle each had two shots and one shot on goal in the game. 

COACHES CORNER:
"Tonight was long overdue on the attacking front," said head coach Ryan Moon. "We started the game with great energy and intensity and were able to take our chances which put us in a great position. We were consistent throughout the game with our standards and mature in our decision making. Quick turnaround now so we'll enjoy tonight and then we'll be looking to take our momentum into Tampa on Saturday."

  • Florida Tech moves to 10-2 all-time versus Palm Beach Atlantic 
  • Panthers improve to 3-0-1 against ranked opponents this season 
  • Tech extends its streak of holding SSC opponents scoreless to 559 minutes dating back to the Nova Southeastern game on Oct. 2. 
  • Lewkutz earns her first career win and shutout in her first career start
