FIRST HALF:
- Aiste Vaitekunaite and Hannah Roney recorded back-to-back 3-pointers cutting Unions early lead, 7-6.
- The Panthers and Bulldogs went back and forth trading the lead seven times in the first period.
- Union would go on to record a 9-point scoring streak, quickly followed by another 10-point streak to put them up 42-27 at the half.
SECOND HALF:
- Tech couldn't seem to get into a rhythm, going 2-for-17 in the third quarter.
- Union's offense took advantage of the struggling Panthers, advancing their lead by 16 heading into the final quarter.
- The Panther's defense built some momentum in the final period, keeping Union from scoring a field goal for over 5 minutes.
- 7 of Tech's final 15 points came from free throws.
COACHES CORNER:
"We played a really good first quarter and after that the wheels came off," said Reynolds. "We had too many turnovers, you can't beat a really tough team doing that".
NOTABLE PANTHERS:
- Hannah Roney led the Panthers with 14 points – going 50% on three-pointers - two rebounds, and two assists.
- Severine Uggen followed with nine points and three rebounds.
- Fanny Hakanson shot 2-3 from the three-point range for six points
- Cheyenne Scott finished with a team-high four rebounds and four assists.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- Union finished the game shooting 44.8% (30-67) from the field and 39.3% (11-28) from three. Tech ended the contest at 22.8% (13-57) shooting and 29.0% (9-31) beyond the arc.
- Bulldogs made 13-15 (86.7%) from the line while the Panthers hit on 13-18 (72.2%) attempts.
- Panthers had a 9-8 advantage in steals, while Union led in rebounds (51-36)
- Each team tabbed 11 points off turnovers
