Panthers Hosted the Sailfish on Senior Day

Tech Played their First Game After 478 Days Against PBA

Melbourne, Fla. - Florida Tech opened the short season at home after 478 days without playing. The Panthers hosted Palm Beach Atlantic in today's senior day match at the Clemente Center.

Before the game, the Panthers honored all the seniors for both sides and thanked all of their hard work for their respective programs.

Florida Tech fought hard but, unfortunately, were not able to pick up a win against PBA. Florida Tech lost in three sets of play (25-22, 25-23, and 25-11).

The Panthers traded point throughout the first third of the opening set. The Sailfish went on a 7-2 run to make it a 21-16 game. Florida Tech then went on a 5-0 point run to tie the game at 21-21, but Tech could not come up with a win falling 25-22 in the opening frame.

In the next set, Florida Tech looked very good with a back and forth battle. In the middle of the set, The Crimson and Gray went on a 6-2 point run to cut PBA's lead to one. In the end, the Panthers' four-point run was not enough as they fell 25-23.

PBA dominated the entire frame in the last frame, and Florida Tech was unable to answer to the Sailfish aggressive attacks.

The senior Jocelyn Garcia looked very good for the Panthers, collecting nine kills in today's home opener. Garcia posted a .318 hitting percentage and two blocks in today's match.

Jordan White suited up for the first time as a Panthers in today's senior day match. White Collected five kills and registered a hitting percentage of .250 to begin her career.
