Panthers Earn First Win of the Season

Ashlee Crowder picks up her first win as head coach as Delaney Lott's 14 kills and a .483 hitting percentage carry the Panthers to a 3-1 victory

 STATS OF THE MATCH:

  • Florida Tech earned its first win of the season. The Panthers took a 3-1 victory over Rollins. 
  • Delaney Lott led the team with a .483 hitting percentage, delivering an impressive 14 kills in today's match. 
  • Katie Erdmann led the team with 23 kills and a .224 hitting percentage. Erdmann completed her double-double, adding 11 digs. 
  • Erdmann registered three blocks, while Kayla Mastin led the team with four blocks. 
  • Defensively, Erin Arbour led the team with 20 digs, and Anna Harry recorded 18 digs. Harry also collected another double-double tallying 40 assists in today's contest.

"This win tonight was a 100% team win. Each player played hard, executed at a high level, and I felt each player brought intensity. These players are more than deserving of this win. I have been pushing them to play with a sense of urgency and saw it consistently tonight. The team has been working so hard, on and off the court. Each day they have brought new attitudes & fresh mindsets and have shown an eagerness to keep getting better. "

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:

  • Panthers earn their first win of the 2021 season. Ashlee Crowder collects the first win of her career as a head coach. 
  • Harry's 40 assists in the match puts her at #8 in the Sunshine State Conference season totals. 
  • Arbour climbs up in the rankings to #4 in the SSC in the digs category with 182. 
  • Erdmann now ranks #2 in the kills category in the league following tonight's performance, while Lott ranks #12 in the SSC standings. 

UP NEXT:  The Crimson and Gray will be back home Friday, October 1st, to face SSC opponents Eckerd College. The Panthers are scheduled to begin play at 7 p.m. EST at the Clemente Center.
