- Montevallo controlled the pace of play during the first half and outshot the Panthers 8-2 and had a 2-1 edge in shots on goal over the first 45 minutes.Â
- Alyssa Bartle and Marem Ndiongue accounted for both of Tech's shots in the first half and Maria Sanchez Recuero had two saves before halftime.Â
- Mariana Mazzocca made it 1-0 in the 86' off an assist from Ndiongue.
- Sanchez Recuero stopped a Falcons' shot in the 87' to keep the Panthers in the lead.Â
- Montevallo led in shots 13-5, shots on goal 4-3 and corner kicks 4-1.
- Panthers committed more fouls 14-8.
- Sanchez Recuero finished with four saves.

"Today's result was an enjoyable one," exclaimed
Ryan Moon. "We knew Montevallo would be a strong team - they are well coached and we knew we'd have our work cut out. We showed big heart in the performance and our work rate was top notch. On the ball, we didn't feel like we were clicking today but we tried to focus on the things we could control defensively. We are happy with the weekend away and are now looking forward to another test this Friday at home."

- Florida Tech moves to 3-1-1 all-time against Montevallo. The Panthers' previous wins in the series came in 2008 (3-0) and 2009 (2-0), while UM's only win came in 2019 (1-2). The teams tied 2-2 in 2018.
- This is the Panthers' first 2-0 start to the season since 2016.
- Sanchez Recuero earned her sixth career clean sheet in the win.Â
