Tampa, Fla.- Florida Tech Women's basketball team traveled to Tampa to compete in the Tampa Holiday Classic Tournament. On day one of the tournament, the Panthers fell to #7 West Texas A&M.

FIRST QUARTER
- West Texas A&M jumped out to an early 6-0 lead.
- Dalma Ehmann got Tech on the board with a layup with 5:00 to go.
- A 5-0 run pushed West Texas A&M's lead to nine.
- Aiste Vaitekunaite scored her first points of the game with a long three-pointer.
- Heading into the second quarter, the Panthers trailed by eight.
SECOND QUARTER
- West Texas A&M opened the quarter on a 6-0 run extending their lead to 14.
- Emily Acampora hit a three-pointer to cut the lead to 11.
- Back-to-back layups by Makyla Daniels and Lina Stranger Johannessen ended the quarter.
- At the half, West Texas A&M was in the lead 30-15.
THIRD QUARTER
- For the first four minutes it was all West Texas A&M.
- Vaitekunaite ended the Panthers scoring drought with her second three pointer of the game.
- West Texas A&M outscored Tech 16-6 in the third quarter.
FOURTH QUARTER
- Tech started off the fourth with a three from freshman Grace Speer followed by Vaitekunaite's third three pointer of the day.
- Divine Guthrie was able to knock down both of her free throws for her first points of the day and a layup right after to cut the deficit to 55-31 with 5:08 to go.
- West Texas A&M finished their strong performance with a 7-0 run.
- Remingtyn Smith ended the game with a layup.
NOTABLE PANTHERS:
- Vaitekunaite finished with 10 points, eight rebounds, one block and one steal.
- Grace Speer added five points, four rebounds, and one steal.
- Guthrie tallied four points, five rebounds, and two steals.
- Stranger-Johannessen chipped in five points.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- Florida Tech is now 0-2 in the all-time series against West Texas A&M University.
- West Texas A&M shot 38% (22-58) from the field, including 26% (9-34) from the three, and 64% (9-14) at the line.
- West Texas A&M led in rebounds (54-37), second chance points (14-6), and bench points (24-16).
- The Panthers shot 20% (12-62) from the field, 25% (5-20) from behind the three-point line, and 50.0% (4-8) from the free-throw line.
