FIRST HALF: 
  • Lynn was first on the board taking an early 4-0 lead, 7:54 to go.
  • Panthers tied it up off a 3-pointer from Aiste Vaitekunaite and a basket at the line by Fanny Paulin, 4-4, 5:08 remaining.
  • It was back-and-forth the rest of the first quarter, 13-13, heading into the second.
  • Baskets were exchanged up until Lynn took a 10-4 run to close the half, leading 31-25.
SECOND HALF: 
  • Fighting Knights outscored the Panthers, 17-9, in the third quarter to extend their lead 48-34.
  • An 11-0 run by Lynn top open the final frame pushed their lead, 59-34, 6:52 remaining. Five of the 11 points came from the free throw line.
  • Tech answered back with a 5-0 run – three from the charity stripe – cutting the deficit, 59-39, 3:54 left.
  • Both teams recorded six points each in the remaining minutes.

NOTABLE PANTHERS:
  • Paulin led the Panthers with 12 points, four rebounds, two steals, and one assist.
  • Three different Panthers -Lina Stranger-Johannessen, Makyla Daniels, and Vaitekunaite- added seven points to the stat sheet.
  • Vaitekunaite led the defense with seven rebounds and three steals.
 
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
  • Tech finished the game shooting 30.9% (17-55) from the field, 20.8% (5-24) from beyond the arc, and 66.7% (6-9) on free throws.
  • Lynn shot 42.9% (21-49) in the contest, including 50% (8-16) from the three-point range, and converted 65.2% (15-23) at the line.
  • Lynn won the rebounding battle (38-27) and had an edge in points off turnovers (13-11) and bench points (14-10).
  • Both teams posted 20 points in the paint.
 
 
UP NEXT: Florida Tech is back in the Clemente Center on Wednesday, Feb. 16 to host Barry in an SSC match-up. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
