FIRST HALF: 
  • Makyla Daniels got the Panthers started on a layup assisted by Lina Stranger-Johannessen, 2-2, 7:17 remaining.
  • Tampa ensued on a 19-6 run to take a 21-8 lead into the second quarter.
  • Tech opened the second frame with a three ball and a basket from the charity stripe - both by Aayana Nedd - 21-12, 8:34 to go.
  • Severine Uggen cut the deficit to seven with a basket beyond the arc, 24-17, 4:34 remaining in the half.
  • Spartans pushed their lead back to double-figures, going on an 8-2 run to close the half and carry a 32-19 advantage into halftime.

SECOND HALF: 
  • Panthers came out of the brake determined as a 7-0 run cut the margin down to six points, 32-26, with 7:30 remaining. Daniels kicked it off with a layup, Hannah Roney drained a three-pointer, and Fanny Paulin provided two baskets from the line.
  • A free throw and two layups once again pushed the Spartans lead to double-figures, 37-26 with 4:19 to go.
  • It was back-and-forth to close out the third quarter, Spartans took a 44-34 lead into the final frame.
  • Spartans extended their lead on a 16-2 run in the fourth until Farah Shaaban drained a three-pointer, her first in as a Panther, in the final minute.

NOTABLE PANTHERS:
  • Paulin led the Crimson & Gray with 11 points, four rebounds, and one steal.
  • Aiste Vaitekunaite tallied a team-high six rebounds, four points, one assist, and one steal.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
 
  • Tech finished the game shooting 26.3% (15-57) from the field, 22.7% (5-22) from beyond the arc, and 75% (6-8) on free throws.
  • Spartans shot 44.9% (22-49) in the contest, 18.2% (2-11) from the three-point range, and 70% (14-20) at the line.
  • Tampa held the advantage in rebounds (43-30), points in the paint (32-16), and bench points (16-12).
  • Each team tallied 16 points off turnovers.
 
 
UP NEXT: Florida Tech is back in the Clemente Center Wednesday Feb. 23 for an SSC match-up against Palm Beach Atlantic. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
