STATS OF THE GAME:
  • EC wasted no time jumping ahead of the Panthers, scoring 7 runs on 7 hits and three stolen bases in the top of the first.
  • Lions would go on to score a run in each of the next two innings to advance their lead, 9-0.
  • Victoria Szrom singled to left field driving in two runs to put the Panthers on the board in the bottom of the 5th.
  • A bases-loaded walk for Jolie Miracle allowed Mikayla Lewin to score and cut the deficit, 9-3.
  • Lions went on to score one more off a RBI triple in the 7th inning.
  • Samantha Guider took the loss in the circle, now 0-1 on the season.
  • Cheyenne Nelson went 2 for 3 with one run for the Panthers.

STATS OF THE GAME:
  • Carson-Newman recorded three runs on one hit in the first inning.
  • Eagles added one in the third off a Panther error. Their final six runs came in the fourth off seven hits.
  • Kelsie Rivers took the loss going three innings allowing two earned runs.
  • Chloe French got on base in two out of three trips to the plate in the contest.
 
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
  • This was the first meeting with both teams for the Panthers.
  • Alex Hendrian made her collegiate debut pitching seven innings between both games.  
 
UP NEXT: Florida Tech continues at the Bobcat Kickoff Tournament with a rematch against Carson-Newman at 11 a.m. before facing hosts Georgia College at 1 p.m.
