STATS OF GAME ONE:
- Panthers score one run or more in each of the first four innings.
- Cheyenne Nelson doubled to right center for Tech's first hit of the day. Chloe French followed with a single to right center to plate Nelson.
- Nelson hit a 3-run homerun over the right field wall in the 2nd inning.
- In the 3rd, Mikayla Lewin doubled to right field and was able to score on a throwing error by the Mavericks.
- In the 4th, Whitney Ellis reached first on a fielding error; Mikayla Wessel singled on a bunt and advanced to second on a throwing error. Ellis was able to reach home on the error.
- Tech plated their final run, reaching the run-rule, in the 6th. Nelson reached first on a fielder's choice then stole second. French followed with a single to center field to plate Nelson and end the game.
- Wessel, Nelson, and French all had multi-hit games
- Samantha Guider earned her ninth win of the season throwing a complete game, only allowing two hits, no runs, and no walks on three strikeouts.
STATS OF GAME TWO:
- Panthers got on the board first in the opening frame when Mikayla Lewin hit a sacrifice fly to plate Cheyenne Nelson.
- A RBI double by Ellis and a RBI sacrifice fly from Mikayla Wessel gave Tech two more runs in the 4th.
- Mercy put their first run on the board in the 5th on a sacrifice fly.
- Kelsie Rivers (4-3) got the start in the circle allowing only two hits, one run, and one walk in five innings of work.
- Allie Platon earned her second save of the season allowing one hit, no runs, and one walk on one strikeout in two innings.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- This was the first meeting between the two teams. Tech is now 2-0 all-time against Mercy College.
- Cheyenne Nelson extended her hitting streak to 21 consecutive games.
- Game one was Samantha Guider's third complete-game shutout of the season.
- Nelson's homerun in game one was her second of the season and the fourth of her career.
- Nelson surpassed 100 runs scored in her career. She is only the ninth player to do so in program history.
- Nelson moved into Top-10 all-time in program history for total career bases with 232.
