Panthers Roll Past Warhawks for First Win of Season

STATS OF THE MATCH: 
  • The Panthers controlled the first half of the game outshooting AUM 16-0.
  • In the 32' Marem Ndiongue sent a pass across to May Queiroz who then dribbled down the left side beating the defenders and creating an open shot that just tipped off the fingers of AUM's goalkeeper.
  • Another quality scoring opportunity for Tech came in the 42' as Daniela Tobon fired a deep shot but came up short when it hit the cross bar.
  • Less than a minute and a half into the second half, the Warhawks got on the board. Julia Simoes rebounded a shot that hit the cross bar, heading it past the keeper.
  • Seven minutes later, Ndiongue bicycle kicked the ball into the back of the net off a cross from Katie Cunningham, tying up the game.
  • The Panthers took the lead at the 65' mark as Allyn Jamie crossed the ball from the right side of the field, bouncing off Cristina Garriga and landing at the foot of Ndiongue where she tapped it in.
  • In the 72', Morgan Miller's shot bounced of the defender, but she quickly rebounded and found the back of the net, giving Tech a 3-1 lead. Ashley Babiarz and Savannah Oxley were credited with the assists.
  • Tech finished with 32-3 edge in shots and 14-2 shots on goal
  • Panthers led the game in corner 6-1.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
  • Florida Tech moves to 3-0 all-time against Auburn Montgomery
  • Panthers have scored three or more goals in all three meeting with the Warhawks.
  • Marem Ndiongue scored her first two goals of the season, eighth of her career.
  • This is the first multiple goal game for Ndiongue. She is the first Panther to recorded two goals in a game since Maria Munoz's two against AUM on Sept. 9, 2019.
  • Morgan Miller's goal was her first as a Panther and sixth of her career.
UP NEXT: Florida Tech is back in action Friday, Sept 2 on the road against #4 Lenoir-Rhyne at 7 p.m.
