MELBOURNE, Fla. - In a matchup between two teams tied in the SSC standings, Florida Tech hosted Eckerd College. The Panthers came out hot scoring three first half goals, which gave them a big enough cushion to earn their second consecutive SSC win. Â

In the 11' Florida Tech opened the scoring on a strike from Cristina Garriga, after the goalkeeper batted away a cross right to her in front of the net.Â

Not long after its first goal in the 14', Florida Tech doubled its lead as Katherine Cunningham set up Maya Quieroz with a tap in. Â

In the 38' off a free kick, Hella Helgadottir played in a perfect cross that found the head of Quieroz who placed it into the back of the net. Â

The Panthers had 10 shots in the first half which was twice as many as Eckerd had at five. Â

Eckerd responded in the second half with a goal from Reagan Rodriguez in the 76' after she found the end of a loose ball inside the box. Â

Eckerd in total had three yellow cards on the night, while Florida Tech was assessed one. Â

The Tritons committed 13 fouls which was six more then the Panthers who committed seven.Â

Kaja Ekstrom, Lauryn Wood, Maria Sanchez Recuero, Kate Frazier, and Helgadottir all played the full 90 minutes. Â
