MELBOURNE, FLA. - Looking for its eighth SSC win of the season, Florida Tech hosted Rollins. The Panthers played the Tars close for the first half. However, strong shooting from Rollins allowed it to pull away for an 81-60 win. Â

FIRST HALF:Â Â
- The Tars scored the first four points, but a 5-0 run capped off a Mekhii Noble lay up gave the Panthers the lead.Â
- A 7-0 run for Rollins gave it a 14-9 lead. Â
- A slam dunk and a 3-pointer from Can Kaan Turgut put Tech to within five points after Rollins built up a seven-point lead.Â
- Josh Mims drilled a triple with 3:16Â remaining to cut the Rollins lead to 29-26.Â
- Mims drilled another three to cut the Tars lead to 36-33.Â
- With Tech within four points, Hutton Yenor of the Tars knocked down a 3-pointer at the buzzer.Â
SECOND HALF:Â Â
- A 7-0 run for the Tars pushed their lead to double-digits at 52-41.Â
- A transition triple from Darragh O'Sullivan cut Rollins' lead to 59-47.Â
- Rollins extended the lead to 17 points with a quick 5-0 run after the O'Sullivan 3-pointer.Â
- Back-to-back triples from Cameron Corcoran for Rollins gave it a 72-52 advantage. Â
- The Panthers held the Tars scoreless for just under four minutes, but a corner three from Kyle Marion pushed the Rollins lead back to 20 points.Â
- Tech's final points of the night came on two made free throws from Sean Houpt.Â
NOTABLE PANTHERS:Â Â
- Noble was Tech's leading scorer with 13 points on 5-of-11 shooting.Â
- Scoring 12 points was Houpt. The senior was 4-of-4 from the free-throw line. Â
- Mims scored nine points with a team-high three triples.Â
- O'Sullivan scored eight points with three rebounds and three assists. Â
- Elias Martin had six points and a team-high six rebounds.Â
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:Â
- The Panthers shot 38.2% (21-55) from the field and 29% (8-28) from 3-point range. The Tars were 54% (31-57) shooting and 50% (9-18) from three. Â
- At the free throw line Tech was 77% (10-13) and Rollins was 75% (9-12).Â
- Rollins won the battle on the glass with 38 rebounds to Florida Tech's 22.Â
- Florida Tech had 12 turnovers and 17 assists. Rollins turned it over 16 times and dished out 27 assists.Â
- The Panthers drop to 33-69 all-time against Rollins.
