MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – For the second year in a row, the No. 5 Florida Tech men's soccer team battled with No. 15 Barry in the Sunshine State Conference Tournament Final on Sunday. After an early score by the Bucs' the Panthers were unable to find the equalizer, dropping the match 1-0.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
- Both teams came out ready to battle, fighting for possession for the first few minutes.
- In the 10th minute, a failed clearing by the Panthers allowed Barry to get back into scoring position. Nicholas Villalobos was fed the ball and saw an opportunity 23 yards out. Iker Bastida dove to the left but was just short as the ball hit the back of the net to give Barry the lead.
- Six minutes later, Joeran Osland brought the ball down the left side and chipped it into Ettore Casadei. Casadei's header went wide, holding the score at 1-0.
- Tech had another opportunity in the 26th minute after being awarded a free kick 25 yards out but was unable to capitalize.
- Both teams battled for possession the remainder of the half. Each team was able to get two more shots off a piece.
- The Bucs' threatened in the 57th minute as Iker Berruezo ripped one through the defense, but Bastida was able to deflect it.
- In the 65th minute, Fabio Amaral got a shot from the center of the box but was blocked.
- Tech's last opportunity came in the 76th minute when the ball was delivered to Mikkel Kvinnesland. Kvinnesland blasted a hard shot bottom left but was stopped by Barry's keeper Rafael Furlani.
- The Panthers outshot the Bucs' 10 to 6, with each keeper recording two saves.
- There were 23 fouls called, with 16 going against the Panthers.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- Following the conclusion of the championship game, Ettore Casadei, Sjur Dreschler, Filippo Fazzi, and Nokkvi Nokkvason were named to the SSC All-Tournament Team.
- Florida Tech moves to 12-23-4 all-time against the Barry Buccaneers and 10-15-2 all-time in Miami Shores.
- Florida Tech is 1-4 against Barry in the SSC Tournament.
