Ceely, Powell, Ramirez and Rutta Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

GREENWOOD, Ind.- Four members of the Florida Tech women's swimming team have been named to the 2022-2023 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.
 
The 2022‐23 Academic All‐District® Women's Swimming & Diving Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student‐athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom.
 
The four women representing Florida Tech on the CSC Academic All-District Team are Kiera Ceely, Harper Powell, Christina Ramirez, and Shaelyn Rutta
 
The CSC recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America Ballot, as first, second, and third-team All-Americans will be announced in late March. 
 
Ceely, a Derwood, MD native, has recorded five top-five finishes this season including two first-place finishes in the 200-yard Fly twice, both against Lynn. The sophomore is currently working towards a degree in Biomedical Engineering.
 
Harper Powell is a member of the Women's 200 Freestyle Relay that will be competing at this season's 2023 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in Indianapolis, Ind. She finished third in the B finals of this season's SSC Championships and holds the school record in the 50 free and is part of the 200 Medley and Freestyle Relays that broke the school record in both events this season. The Adairsville, GA native is pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering.
 
 
Ramirez was a part of the relay team this season that broke the school 200 Medley Relay record at the SSC Championships. She finished fourth in this year's Panther Invitational in the 50 Yard Freestyle at the. The King City, Ont, Can. Native is working towards receiving a degree in. Civil Engineering.
 
Rutta, a senior from Oconomowoc, WI is currently pursuing a degree in Aviation Management with Flight. She is a part of the women's 200-free relay team that will be competing at the 2023 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in Indianapolis, Ind. She was also a part of the women's 200 free and medley relays that broke the event's school record at this year's SSC Championships.
 
As an Academic All-District selection, the four women are now a candidate for the 2022-2023 NCAA Division II Academic All-America Men's Swimming Team. Academic All-America will be announced in late March.
