LAKELAND, FLA.- Florida Tech softball traveled to take on Florida Southern in a three-game series. The Panthers found themselves in a hole after the Mocs put up eight runs in the first inning, but Tech showed some grit and resiliency scoring 14 runs to complete the comeback. In game one on Friday night, the game was suspended due to weather in the bottom of the 7
th inning. On Saturday, the Panthers wrapped up the last inning beating the Mocs 14-9.

STATS OF THE GAME:
- Florida Southern scored eight runs on seven hits in the bottom of the first inning including a three-run homer.
- Jolie Miracle got Tech started in the 2nd inning with a double to left field. With runners on first and second, Layna Pollock brought home Miracle from third to put the Panthers on the board.
- Kelly McLaughlin singled to start the 3rd inning. Ella Niles reached on a fielder's choice and McLaughlin advanced to second. A SAC fly by Miracle brought home McLaughlin.
- Mya Ogbodiewgu battled an 11 pitch at bat and hit a double to right center field scoring two more runs.
- Mandy Schwartz followed with another double scoring Ogbodiewgu. The Panthers scored five runs on three hits in the third inning.
- Heading into the 4th inning, Tech trailed 8-6.
- Mikayla Lewin's RBI double drove in two runs to tie things up 8-8 in the top of the 4th.
- The Mocs scored one run in the bottom of the 4th to take a 9-8 lead.
- The Panthers had an answer for the Mocs in the 5th. McLaughlin's third hit of the day came in the top of the 5th inning. Niles successfully put a bunt down moving McLaughlin to second.
- Cheyenne Nelson's bunt single scored McLaughlin from second. Lewin's RBI single scored Niles. Ella Gibson's double down the left field line brought home Lewin and gave Tech a 12-9 lead.
- Allison Platon picked up the win in the circle for Florida Tech. Platon threw 5.2 inning allowing 5 runs and six hits.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Florida Tech is now 34-96 against Florida Southern in the all-time series.
- Mikayla Lewin was 3-4 at the plate with 5 RBI.
- Kelly McLaughlin went 3-3 at the plate with 4 runs.
- Mya Ogbodiewgu and Ella Gibson both had 2 RBI a piece.
- Florida Tech tallied a season-high 17 hits.
- As a team, the Panther's batting average was .486%. With runners in scoring position, .556%.
