Tars Take Game Three

WINTER PARK, FLA.- Florida Tech wrapped up its series against Rollins on Saturday afternoon. Timely hitting by the Tars in the sixth inning lead the Tars to a game-three win over the Panthers.

STATS OF THE GAME:
  • A RBI double by Taylor Waters gave Rollins a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.
  • In the top of the 4th inning, Mikayla Lewin's solo shot to center field tied things up at one apiece.
  • A bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the 6th inning gave the Tars a 2-1 lead.
  • The next batter up singled through the right-side scoring two more runs for Rollins.
  • Heading into the top of the 7th inning the Panthers trailed 4-1.
  • Jolie Miracle walked to start the inning. Mya Ogbodiewgu reached on a fielder's choice while Miracle advanced to second.
  • With runners on first and second, Miranda Schwartz grounded into a double play to end the game.
  • Allison Platon suffered the loss in the circle. Platon threw 5.2 innings allowing three hits and four runs. She struck out three and walked three.
 
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
  • Florida Tech is now 60-57 against Rollins in the all-time series.
  • Mikayla Lewin hit her second home run of the season, the 11th of her career.
