DAYTONA BEACH, FLA- Florida Tech softball traveled to Daytona Beach to take on the Eagles in a conference matchup on Friday night. The Panther's offense exploded scoring 8 runs to defeat Embry-Riddle in game one.

STATS OF THE GAME:
- In the bottom of the 2nd inning, Ella Gibson reached first on an error by the third baseman. Ogbodiewgu walked.
- With runners on first and second, Miranda Schwartz singled through the left side advancing the runners to second and third.
- Layna Pollock's RBI single scored Gibson from third.
- It was a big 5th inning for the Panthers.
- With the bases loaded, Gibson reached on a fielder's choice, and Mikayla Lewin and Cheyenne Nelson scored to put Tech on top 3-0.
- Ogboediewgu's triple to center field drove in two more runs. Pollock's double to left field scored Ogbodiewgu to give the Panthers a 6-0 lead.
- In the bottom of the 5th inning, a RBI single drove in one run for the Eagles.
- A RBI single from Lewin in the 6th inning drove in another run for the Panthers.
- Florida Tech's defense shut down the Eagles to end the game.
- Allison Platon secured her 8th win of the season. Platon threw four innings allowing one hit and no runs.
- Samantha Guider entered the game in the 5th inning for Platon. Guider allowed one run and one hit.
- Guider picks up her first save of the season.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Florida Tech is now 12-8 against Embry-Riddle in the all-time series.
- Layna Pollock went 3-4 at the plate with two RBIs.
- Three hits in a single game are a career-high for Pollock.
- Mikayla Lewin went 2-3 with one RBI.
- Mya Ogbodiewgu also went 2-3 at the plate with a triple and two RBIs.
- Cheyenne Nelson extended her reached base streak to 11 games.
