ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Florida Tech women's soccer team moved to 3-1 in the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) after the Panthers defeated Eckerd, 3-0, behind a hat trick from senior
Marem Ndiongue.

STATS OF THE MATCH
- The Panthers applied offensive pressure early in the match and forced Eckerd's keeper to make two saves with on-target shots from Josefine Nilsen and Daniela Tobon in the first 10 minutes of the match.
- The Tritons threatened to score in the 20th minute and had possession in the box, but Tech's defense was able to successfully clear the ball before a shot attempt.
- After some back and forth in the midfield, Marem Ndiongue smashed a shot off an Eckerd defender and then ripped her second-chance shot into the back of the net in the 33rd minute to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead.
- The Tritons had an opportunity to score in the 44th minute, but Brooke Bisko's shot sailed safely away from the goal and the teams went into halftime with a score of 1-0.
- In the second half, Ndiongue broke away from the defense and had a one-on-one with Eckerd's keeper in the 56th minute. The keeper was able to just get her glove on the ball which forced Ndiongue's shot to bang off the woodwork.
- On the next Tritons possession, Bisko had another open shot, but Panther keeper Ayana Aoyagi came up with the save to hold the 1-0 lead.
- Both teams battled for possession for the next few minutes. Tech saw another scoring opportunity in the 69th minute after Taylor George worked her way into the box and dished the ball off to Ndiongue but was unable to score after she rang another shot off the post.
- The Panthers dominated possession for the next several minutes. In the 82nd minute, Ndiongue fielded the ball in the box, worked around the defense, and smoked a shot to the far post for her second goal of the game.
- Just five minutes later, Ally Jaime dished a pass to Ndiongue in the box, who ripped another shot past the Triton keeper to secure a hat trick on the day and give the match its final score of 3-0.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Florida Tech moves to 14-5-2 all-time against Eckerd and 4-4-2 all-time on the road against the Tritons.
- This is the Panthers' fifth shutout win of the season and the second in a row.
- Marem Ndiongue's hat trick moves her into a tie for seventh all-time with Kelli Huarte ('05) for career goals in program history (18 goals).
- Ndiongue's hat trick was also the first time a Panther has scored three goals in one match since Maria Munoz ('19) did so against Lynn on Sept. 20, 2017.
UP NEXT: Florida Tech will next travel to Daytona Beach, Fla. for a midweek SSC match against No. 8 Embry-Riddle on Wednesday, Oct. 4. Opening kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
