MELBOURNE, Fla.- The Florida Tech women's basketball took on the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish Wednesday night which saw
Tai Roberts pick up a season-best 21 points in the 72-56 loss to the Sailfish.

FIRST QUARTER
- Palm Beach Atlantic got on the board first going ahead 4-0 following two-point plays from Karyzma Pierre and Ashleigh Boulin.
- Tai Roberts was the first to score for the Panthers, off a jumper, making it 4-2, two minutes into the game.
- three more layups by PBA would increase the Sailfish's lead 10-2 with 6:05 remaining in the first quarter.
- Jessica Lange would score Tech's second field goal for the Panthers as the Sailfish would lead 12-4 Heading into a media timeout just under five minutes into the first.
- Roberts converted a three-point play to make it 15-7.
- Sent to the line on a personal foul, Roberts would convert both free throws to bring Tech's deficit to within six points.
- A converted free throw by PBA's Pierre, and a jumper from Claire Davis would put the Sailfish ahead 18-9 before Breazia Robinson would score from a jumper before the end of the quarter making it 18-11 at the end of the first.
SECOND QUARTER
- The Panthers would bring their deficit to just one at 20-19 early in the second following an 8-2 run against the Sailfish.
- Kyandra Poitier would score off two field goals with Emily Acampora and Olivia Stephens recording field goals of their own.
- Jillian Schenk of the Sailfish would hit a three followed by a free throw following a media timeout, extending PBA's lead 24-19 with 6:37 remaining.
- Boulin and Pierre were both sent to the line, converting two free throws each making it 28-19, PBA.
- Zoe Wortinger increased the Sailfish's lead with a three before Farah Shaaban answered right back with a three of her own for a score of 31-22 with 2:15 left before the half.
- With 20 seconds to go, Worthington would convert one of two free throws leading to a three from Sarah Liberatore as time expired, keeping it an eight-point game, 32-25 heading into the half.
THIRD QUARTER
- Stephens started the third with a two-point jumper for the Panthers.
- Pierre answered back with a jumper of her own as the Panthers would go back and forth exchanging baskets making it 36-29 before a fast break layup by Roberts brought the game within five, 35-31, 2:15 into the third.
- Another layup and jumper from Roberts following a made free throw by PBA's Mariyah Fletcher made it 37-35 as Tech closed in on PBA's lead.
- PBA brought its lead back to six following two made layups in a row.
- Stephens would hit a shot from beyond the arch assisted by Poitier making it 41-38 before PBA would go on a five-point run to lead 46-38 with 3:18 left in the third.
- A nine-point run for PBA from six converted free throws and a three allowed the Sailfish to jump out to a 55-38 lead entering the fourth quarter.
FOURTH QUARTER
- Kash Ayuso recorded the opening points of the fourth on a layup to extend PBA's lead 57-38.
- Acampora tallied the Panther's first score of the quarter making it 59-40.
- Following a jumper from Pierre, Liberatore would make both her free throws at the line as PBA led 61-42.
- Six points in a row by the sailfish would see PBA lead 67-42, before a three from Roberts made it 67-45 with 4:43 to go.
- Roberts knocked down another three after a free throw from Divine Guthrie brought the Sailfish's lead to 67-49 with 3:00 remaining.
- Acampora tallied a three with 2:23 to go before Wortinger responded with a three for PBA.
- Tech managed to score four points to close out the game off layups from Liberatore and Poitier before the clock expired giving PBA the 72-56 win.
NOTABLE PANTHERS:
- Tai Roberts finished with a season-best 21 points, eight from the field, two from beyond the arch, and three at the free throw line as well as finishing with three rebounds, one assist, and one steal.
- Guthrie, Stephens, and Poitier led Tech with four rebounds each.
- Lina Stranger-Johannessen tallied three steals for the Panthers.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- The Panthers are now 29-10 all-time vs. PBA.
- The Sailfish have now won six straight against Tech dating back to March 16, 2021
- Tech is 11-6 all-time at PBA.
- The Crimson and Gray's last win against the Sailfish occurred on January 29, 2020, by a score of 77-50.
- Tech finished the game shooting 33.3%(22-66) from the field, 33.3%(6-18) from beyond the arc, and 54.5% (6-11) on free throws.
- PBA shot 48% (24-50) in the contest, hitting 35.7% (5-14) from three-point range, and 70.4% (19-27) from the line.
- The Panthers led the sailfish in steals (10-7), assists, (13-10), and recorded fewer turnovers (13-24).
