ST. LEO, Fla. – Marta Llopis from Florida Tech women's soccer notched her third game-winning goal of the season in a 1-0 road win over Saint Leo on Wednesday night.

STATS OF THE MATCH

• The Panthers wasted no time getting the offense going, with Sara Batchadji putting a shot on target in just the fourth minute of the match.
• Two minutes later, Ximena Jauregui found Marta Llopis in the box who deposited her shot past the Lions' keeper to put Tech up 1-0 early.
• The Panthers maintained possession for much of the half, putting up nine more shots and forcing the Saint Leo keeper to make five more saves.
• Tech's defense did not allow a shot in the first half.
• Both teams continued the battle for possession in the early minutes of the second half. Lauryn Wood looked to score in the 70th minute for the Panthers, but her shot was scooped up by the keeper and the game remained at 1-0.
• The Panthers continued to dominate possession and pressure the Lions.
• With just under eight minutes left to play, Saint Leo got their lone shot of the match off and on target, but Kaitlin Sinkler was able to make the save to preserve Tech's lead and the match ended with a final score of 1-0.

• With the win, the Panthers move to 2-0 in conference play.
• Tech moves to 11-13-3 all-time against Saint Leo, including a 6-8-1 record on the road against the Lions.
• Marta Llopis is now tied with Ximena Jauregui for the team lead in goals with three each on the season.

 
UP NEXT: The Panthers will return to Melbourne and resume their suspended game against Rollins on Saturday, Oct. 5. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Rick Stottler Field.
