MELBOURNE, FLA. – The Florida Tech Panthers volleyball took the victory over the Palm Beach Atlantic University Sailfish, this marks the 9
th win in a row, continuing the longest win streak in the conference

STATS OF THE MATCH:
First Set:
- The Sailfish got the ball rolling with this one from an early block score to take the lead 0-1 over tech.
- The Panthers responded quickly with a 5-0 run capped off by two straight kills from Cordelia Kearns giving Tech the lead (5-1).
- Palm Beach would answer with three scores of their own, to which Tech would answer with four consecutive scores.
- The Panthers would look to separate themselves from this point as they would control the lead and hold a five-point advantage, 10-5, 13-8, 15-10.
- Tech would increase their lead to six points by way of five errors on both sides bringing the score up to 18-12.
- The Panthers looked to use their lead to propel them to a set win, but the Sailfish would battle to get back in this going on a 2-5 run and coming as close as four points.
- The final two points for the Panthers would come from Lilian Muszynski as Tech would take the victory in set one.
Second Set:
- Very similar to set one, the Panthers would start down 0-1 but respond this time with a 6-0 run (6-1).
- Both teams would have their moments throughout this set, though lead would stay on the side of the Panthers
- Back-and-forth scoring would bring scores of 7-3 and 10-6 before a (2-4) run would tighten the Panther lead to just two at 12-10.
- Tech buckled down here and would separate themselves with a 6-0 with the help of Kearns, Irene Kitson, & Chiara Patelli.
- The Panthers would then give up some points via errors as the Sailfish responded with a 0-3 run for themselves.
- This would be as close as the Sailfish would get to the Panthers as they would hold this five-point lead (18-13).
- Palm Beach would add on just four more points as the Panthers would finish them off with a tandem of Kearns and Kitson leading them to the set victory.
Third Set:
- A change in the regular pace as this was back-and-forth from the first serve.
- However, it wasn't until the 4th point of the set that the Sailfish would get a point from grit and not via an error (4-4).
- The teams would stay even a piece until the 6-6 mark when the Sailfish would steal some momentum and climb to a 3-point lead (7-10).
- Tech would respond with a 3-0 run here to tie things up once again (10-10).
- The Panthers would then use the momentum of the match to push a 6-1 run on the Sailfish (16-12).
- Palm Beach would put the Panthers on their heels as they would respond with a 1-3 run to make things tight once again (17-15).
- Tech looked to be in control of the set at this point but a late error on their end gave the Sailfish the opportunity to bring the game to just 1 point at 21-20 & then tie at 22-22.
- It would then be a collective team effort via the help of Tessa Mati, Muszynski, Sydney Corbett, & Anita Vallecas Rodriguez who would come together for the final four kills to take the set victory and end the match in sweep fashion.
NOTABLE PANTHERS:
- #8 Cordelia Kearns led the Panthers in Kills with 14 and finished tied for third on the team in digs with 10, her 15th double-double of the season.
- #6 Kari Voelstad Bogen led Tech with 15 digs
- #2 Kenzie Delacher led the match in assists with 20 on the night and also added on 14 digs help secure the win
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- All-time vs. Palm Beach Atlantic: 20-34
- Panthers have won five of six match ups since start of 2022 season.
- Florida Tech is 7-16 all-time at Palm Beach Atlantic but have won each of their past two trips to West Palm Beach.
- Tech clinches a second season sweep of PBA in three years.
