GENEVA, Ohio –
Akos Hajagos and
Katherine Helminiak represented the Florida Tech swimming program once again on Thursday at Day Three of the 2024 NCAA Division II National Championships at the SPIRE Institute.

Hajagos continued his stellar freshman season in the men's 400 IM prelims in the morning. In the race. His time of 3:51.45 broke the program record of 3:53.63 he had set just last month at the Sunshine State Conference Championships. His time placed him in the evening's B Final, earning him Honorable Mention All-American honors in the process.

He is the sixth Panther men's swimmer to earn individual All-American honors. In the evening's B Final, Hajagos' time of 3:51.92 was good for third place.

Helminiak competed in the women's 200 Free prelims, finishing 32
nd out of 43 competitors with a time of 1:51.30. This was the second consecutive year in which the junior competed in this event at the national championships and she in fact saw an improvement in her time of 0.24s.

Up Next: Day four of the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships will begin at 10:00 AM on Friday with Hajagos hoping to continue his record-setting week in the men's 200 Fly while Helminiak will swim in the women's 500 Free.
