LAKELAND, Fla. – The Florida Tech baseball team went back and forth with FSC on the road Tuesday, but ultimately fell to the Mocs in the bottom of the ninth.

STATS OF THE GAME:
- After a scoreless first inning, the action started in the top of the second. Jack Matousek led off the inning with a walk for the Panthers and would come around to score two batters later with an RBI single from Noah Burke.
- In the bottom half of the frame, FSC responded by leading off the inning with a single, a walk, and another single to tie the game at 1-1.
- Two batters later, an RBI ground put the Mocs on top, 2-1.
- In the top of the fourth inning, Marshall Burke reached first base safely after an FSC error to lead off. A Carlos Guzman single and another walk issued to Matousek loaded the bases for Tech.
- Brett Kelly would send a deep fly ball to center field that allowed M. Burke to tag up and tie the game at 2-2. The Mocs would turn a double play to get out of the inning.
- Panther starting pitcher, Mitch Harding, tossed a perfect inning in the bottom of the fourth to keep the momentum with Tech.
- Both pitchers kept each other's offense in check until the top of the eighth inning. Gabe Garrett led off the inning with a walk and then advanced to second on a balk. Jason Blackstone followed up with a single to put runners on the corners with no outs.
- M. Burke brought Garrett home with a fielder's choice to put the Panthers on top, 3-2.
- Once again, FSC would respond in the bottom of the same inning. A walk and sacrifice bunt put a runner on second with one out.
- Trenten Anderson induced a flyout to give the Panthers two outs, but a double to the next batter would bring around the Mocs' runner to tie the game at 3-3.
- Tech sent four batters to the plate in the top of the ninth. Roman Samson was able to reach safely on an error with two outs, but the Panthers were unable to score a run and the game remained tied heading into the bottom of the ninth.
- FSC led off the inning with a triple to right center from El'Rico Riley. The next Moc sent a ground ball towards shortstop that slipped under the glove of the fielder to allow Riley to cross the plate and give FSC a 4-3 win.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Florida Tech moves to 34-113 all-time against FSC, including 15-64 all-time on the road in Lakeland.
- Marshall Burke has now recorded at least one RBI in five straight games. His nine-game hitting streak came to an end tonight.
- Noah Burke has totaled two hits in three of the last four games.
- Carlos Guzman is now on a five-game hitting streak.

UP NEXT: Florida Tech will travel to Winter Park, Fla. this weekend for a three-game conference series against Rollins from Friday, March 22 to Saturday, March 23. First pitch for game one is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Friday night.
