MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Florida Tech softball team completed a three-game sweep of Sunshine State Conference (SSC) opponent Lynn on Saturday afternoon, behind a complete game in the circle from
Alex Hendrian to earn the 6-4 win.
INSIDE THE MATCHUP:
Final: Florida Tech 6, Lynn 4
Records: Florida Tech (11-8, 4-5 SSC), Lynn (5-16, 1-8 SSC)

STATS OF THE GAME:
- Lynn struck first in the top of the first inning. An RBI double from Kyra Sunga would put the Fighting Knights on top 1-0.
- The Panthers would strike right back in the bottom of the frame. Ella Niles led off with a walk and stole second. Kelly McLaughlin followed up with a single to bring home Niles and tie the game at 1-1.
- After a walk was issued to Jolie Miracle, Katie Hogue singled up the middle to push McLaughlin across the plate and take a 2-1 lead.
- After a scoreless second, Tech would tack on another run in the bottom of the third. With runners on second and third, Jillian Moeller hit into a fielder's choice that brought Miranda Schwartz home to extend the lead to 3-1.
- Starting pitcher for the Panthers, Alex Hendrian, worked a perfect top of the fourth in under 15 pitches to keep the Fighting Knights at bay.
- The Panthers' bats came alive in the bottom of the fourth. Another walk and steal of second for Niles set up an RBI opportunity for Miracle. She would take advantage and slap an RBI single to plate Niles and extend the lead to 4-1.
- In the next at-bat, Hogue would step up and crush a two-run home run over the left field fence to make it a 6-1 game.
- Lynn would get one back in the top of the fifth with an RBI single from Olivia Lovins to cut the lead down to 6-2.
- The Fighting Knights tacked two more runs in the top of the sixth inning to make it a 6-4 game.
- Hendrian would take the circle looking for a complete game victory in the top of the seventh and retired the side in order on less than 10 pitches to secure the win and the series sweep for Tech.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Florida Tech moves to 64-28 all-time against Lynn.
- The Panthers have now won nine of the past 10 series against the Fighting Knights.
- Head Coach, Val Silvestrini, is now five wins away from 600 in her career.
- With three stolen bases today, Ella Niles enters the top 10 for career stolen bases in program history.
UP NEXT: Florida Tech will remain at home for a doubleheader against Wilmington on Tuesday, March 5. First pitch for game one is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Nancy Bottge Field.
