MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Florida Tech baseball team scored early and often to defeat Rollins, 7-1, in the team's final midweek non-conference contest of the season.

STATS OF THE GAME:
- Starting pitcher Josh Beck worked a scoreless top of the first for the Panthers, picking up a strikeout in the inning.
- Tech got on the board in the bottom half of the inning with a two-out RBI base knock from Carlos Guzman that plated Brett Kelly.
- A two-out RBI single for the Tars in the top of the second brought home a run to knot the game a 1-1.
- Payton McIntosh struck out the side in the top of the third for the Panthers.
- In the bottom of the fourth, the Panthers loaded the bases with no outs. Garrett slapped a single into center field to plat Marshall Burke and give Tech a 2-1 lead.
- Following a pitching change for Rollins, Kelly sent a fly ball into right field that was deep enough to score Joseph Phan and push the lead to 3-1. On the play, Hansen was thrown out at third base trying to advance.
- A few batters later, an error by the Tars allowed Garrett to score and make it a 4-1 lead.
- McIntosh picked up two more strikeouts in a scoreless top of the fifth inning to maintain the Panthers' 4-1 lead.
- In the bottom of the fifth, M. Burke reached on an error, stole second, advanced to third on another Tars error, and scored on a wild pitch to extend the lead to 5-1 for Tech.
- Noah Burke and M. Burke led off the bottom of the seventh inning. A few batters later, a two-out RBI double into right field from Garrett plated both Burke's to push the lead out to 7-1.
- Trenten Anderson, Dylan Dieguez, Tyler Vermillion, Preston Houvouras, and Brady Guthrie shut down the Tars in a combined effort over the last four innings to earn the 7-1 win for the Panthers.
